Deep In The Heart Of Elvis ... NLteXas ... I Mean TEXAS!!!!

I found Elvis! He is in behind glass at Chuy's in Austin TX, amidst the fishies ... We all went there for a kitschy nibble post show in a trashy tribute to our favorite Bush twins ... yes, it was there that the girls were arrested as minors in possession of the hooch. To that I say beautifully executed ladies ...

Now to the real news... I love Austin! I am convinced it is the best kept secret on planet earth.

Some of the incredible new discoveries this past weekend ...

The really amazing paintings of Andrea Nelson.
Santa, I don't ask for much, but if you could hook up one of her paintings, I would be nice all of 2010! Also, I loved the back room of the Rio Rita, and walking around the East Side taking in all the art was really special.

But the main focus of the trip was to rock ... and I found it hard to do so. I notice that when I do a set it is much easier to do the songs with a bit of a chip on my shoulder ... It's not intentional, not desired, but I realized this weekend it was hard to sing my songs of 'Hate & Non-Devotion' when everyone and everything was so fucking pleasant. But I soldiered on ... :)

And rock we did. Both me and Amanda Rheaume had a blast. Flipnotics and Momo's were great venues to play. Thank you both.

Flipnotics gave us a special guest appearance of violinist, Trisha Keefer, who we had both just met that night and she stepped up to join us on a few tunes. Truly an amazing Austin artist on the rise! Thank you Trisha!

The last night at Momo's, we followed the boys of Marcy Playground ... That band is solid. I mean 'Ashford & Simpson' SOLID! John Wozniak, front man of Marcy also joined us on stage with a cover of Neil Youngs Needle and The Damage Done. It was a great night! Thank you again to Momo's and Marcy.

I love you Texas ... so much I might change my moniker to 'NLteXas' ... Oh and I almost forgot 'Ya'll', fuck I love that too!

And I would like to at this time make a public shout out to my carrier of choice, Turkish Bazaar airlines, A.K.A Southwest for making my trip that much more interesting with all the one liners like 'We are now flying over ... your luggage' , who ever is writing for you guys should be fired. I stepped on the plane with a carry on and left with a goat, two chickens and a really amazing rug.
